Dear all,
Well Walsh and Pound’s April tour is over although we’re back in action this weekend at three festivals Nuts In May, Baafest and Bristol Folk Festival. The last two were good, beginning in Bury at the MET which was a lot of fun. A complete tool who decided to start singing Dirty Old Town when Will began Leaving Toon was strongly rebuked and hopefully won’t be coming back to any of our gigs, but otherwise it was tickety boo. Many of you will know I sing a song about the Jeremy Kyle show, principally relating to how people shouldn’t watch it and the fact that it’s a sick human freak show…there might have been someone who’s been on the show in the audience…that was fun…
Anyway, then I was in solo action at the old homestead of Joxers and it was wonderful as ever with a ridiculously long set and a hugely packed pub and I had an absolute ball so many thanks to one and all including my old year 6 teacher! Finally, Walsh and Pound finished the month at Warwick Arts Centre…in Coventry…which was also a good gig so woo hoo.
Coming up in May – the aforementioned festivals are followed by a solo house concert in Shropshire (sold out, sorry) and then a trip back to Newcastle for covers gigs with Simma then Walsh and Pound play at Swaledale and Hexham Gathering festivals with a gig with Kat Davidson at Tarset Village Hall thrown in too! Hope to see many of you there.
On Monday night I went to see the wonderful Imelda May at the Sage Gateshead who was absolutely outstanding beyond belief, what a voice! It was a great night and I got to see my mum which was marvellous and tonight I get to see my dad which is also marvellous.
Now I was in the supermarket recently, not a favourite place of mine to be, and was looking through the various sections trying to get my items as quickly as possible and came across an aisle called ‘Adult Cereals’. Now could I ask what makes a cereal adult? I mean is it an x rated cereal?! Suitable only for adults? Hmm…
